Carolyn began her career as a medical researcher and histocompatibility technologist. She loved teaching medical students, so she made a career change to education. She taught high school for 17 years, and then became an administrator, where she served as an assistant principal for 10 years with Colorado Springs School District 20. When Carolyn "retired" she joined the UCCS Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) and now is
serving in her ninth year with the program.
