Betina "Tina" Erzen proudly serves as the Program Manager for Leadership Pikes Peak at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where she is committed to developing courageous, collaborative leaders who strengthen the Pikes Peak region. She is an executive coach, leadership educator, and organizational development professional with more than three decades of experience developing leaders, teams, and organizations.
Tina is passionate about helping individuals and organizations unlock their potential through greater self-awareness, purposeful leadership, meaningful relationships, and high-performing teams. Throughout her career, she has designed and facilitated transformative learning experiences that empower leaders to navigate change, build trust, communicate effectively, and create lasting impact.
Prior to joining Leadership Pikes Peak, Tina served 22 years as an officer in the United States Air Force, followed by 10 years as a civilian leader at the United States Air Force Academy’s Center for Character and Leadership Development. She also served as Faculty and Lead Faculty with the Federal Executive Institute's Center for Leadership Development, where she developed senior federal leaders and teams from across the nation.
As a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, Tina has coached hundreds of leaders and professionals in achieving personal and professional growth. Inspired by the profound impact coaching had on her own life, she is committed to helping others discover their strengths, clarify their purpose, and lead with authenticity and confidence.
Tina has partnered with organizations across the public and private sectors, including the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Justice, National Nuclear Security Administration, Booz Allen Hamilton, and the National Park Service. She has designed and delivered leadership development programs nationally and internationally on topics including coaching, communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, leading change, conflict management, team effectiveness, trust, values-based leadership, and organizational performance.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Behavior from the United States Air Force Academy, an Associate of Applied Science in Holistic Wellness, and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with an emphasis in Leadership and Coaching. Tina is also a Certified Hypnotherapist, Master Resilience Trainer, and holds numerous professional certifications in leadership, coaching, emotional intelligence, conflict management, team
development, and organizational effectiveness.
Throughout her career, Tina has received numerous honors, including Air Force Squadron Officer College Instructor of the Year, United States Air Force Academy Outstanding Educator of the Year, and national recognition for co-creating the Academy's award-winning Core Values Coaching Program, recipient of the 2012 Jon C. Dalton Best Program Award for excellence in college student values education.
Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Tina now proudly calls Colorado Springs home. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, hiking, skiing, traveling, cheering on Alabama football, and continually exploring the science of human behavior. She is most proud of her two sons, Chris and JB, and her beloved Great Pyrenees, Lilly.
