2020 Why I Want to Be a Teacher Video Contest
Why I Want to be a Teacher Video Contest
The mission and goals of the UCCS College of Education Teacher Education Program guide students to not only develop and enhance the knowledge and skills expected in teaching professions, but also to provide a meaningful structure for supporting the essential elements of each Teacher Education program. The model assumes that professional educators will serve as instructional leaders within their school settings and that learning to teach is a developmental process. Teachers enhance their instructional leadership skills by increasing the professional knowledge base and reflecting on practice. In keeping with this goal, this voluntary “Why I Want to be a Teacher” contest asks students to create a 2- to 4-minute video of their choice that will be featured on the College of Education's annual Partnership Breakfast, YouTube, the UCCS College of Education (COE) website, COE Alumni LinkedIn, and COE Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
