Biographical Information
Hans J. Larsen, Ph.D., specializes in leadership coaching, education and training. He currently serves as the Program Manager of Leadership Pikes Peak--a historically vital leadership development program in Colorado Springs that elevates local leaders and the entire community.
Hans is also founder of MVP Leadership Development, LLC, a company focused on helping leaders succeed by being those who “make the most players valuable” in their teams and organizations (to use NFL legend Peyton Manning’s definition of an MVP).
A combat veteran pilot and retired Air Force officer, Hans’s leadership experiences in teams and organizations around the world, along with his academic studies in leadership and organizational development, inform his coaching and educational engagements. Hans holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, focused on leadership education and development. He is a scholar-practitioner whose research and writing has been informed by both his leadership experiences in the Air Force and his academic studies. Hans has taught courses in leadership, leadership development, organizational culture and behavior, and communication. He is trained in leadership and executive coaching from the Center for Creative Leadership, a gold standard and pioneer organization in coaching and leadership development research and education, and he also holds certification in coaching utilizing Hogan leadership assessment products.
Hans has served as the Academic Dean of the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School and has led leadership training programs and taught courses at the Air Force Academy’s Center for Character and Leadership Development and Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership. He personally coached and facilitated leadership and organizational development workshops and engagements with commanding officers, allied foreign military leaders, academic leaders and students across multiples institutions, top executives and national leaders in the U.S. government across several departments, Csuite executives of the Air Force and Naval Academies' alumni and fundraising associations, non-profit community service organization leaders in the US and Mexico, and more.
