Biographical Information

James Luttrall is a PhD-Candidate at Oregon State University. He obtained his master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UCCS and has worked for the Colorado Department of Corrections' substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program since 2014. He is currently the clinical supervisor and trainer for the residential SUD programs across six DOC facilities. He also maintains a small private practice and has been an instructor at UCCS since 2018. When he is not working or researching to complete his PhD, James loves spending time in nature with his wife and his dog, a 120-pound Irish Wolfhound. His research interests include antiracist/anti-oppressive counseling and improving client care for individuals who are incarcerated.
