Biographical Information

Nikki Myers has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Gifted Education from UCCS. She is now a PhD student in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy at UCCS. She has been a two-term representative to the State Board of Education's Gifted Education State Advisory Committee.  She is now a board governor of the Colorado Academy of Educators for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (CAEGTC) and a co-director on the Global Awareness Network for the National Association for Gifted Children. She served as the founding director for Academy Director for Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning (AcademyACL), a K-8 charter public school specializing in gifted education in the Pikes Peak Region and has worked as a Dean of Students in alternative education in Colorado Springs District 11. She was a 2022 nominee for Colorado Charter School Leader of the Year, has presented at the Colorado Springs Latino Community Luncheon on behalf of recognizing students of color in gifted education, has supported and coached teachers on best practices in education, has overseen the Colorado Dyslexia Pilot Program as a school principal for two years, and has presented at state and national gifted education conferences.
