Elementary/Secondary Initial License Certificate Programs

The Elementary or Secondary Initial License Certificate Programs lead to a recommendation for an initial teaching license from the State of Colorado. This option is available to undergraduate students pursuing a baccalaureate degree (selected major) from the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS) who fulfill the requirements for both the LAS baccalaureate degree and the teaching license. Candidates who have already earned a baccalaureate degree can apply for the initial teaching license-only option with the opportunity to apply nine credits toward a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs are required to submit a request for professional year placement.
