Biographical Information
I love being a faculty member in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at UCCS, where I am completing my 7th year. Throughout my time in the department, I have dedicated my time to a wide range of service activities and courses. I have served in the role of CACREP Liaison, CSI Faculty Advisor, and am the former Chair of the Faculty Assembly Women’s Committee. As an Instructor, my passion truly lies in the classroom. I enjoy teaching courses such as Individual Lab, Social & Cultural Issues in Professional Counseling, Group Theories & Techniques, and Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. Additionally, I love working with students in our Air Officer Commanding and Academy Military Trainer Programs, where I teach Lab in Developmental Counseling, Group Dynamics and Leadership, and Diversity & Inclusion in Leadership. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, and I maintain a private practice where I work with couples utilizing EFT, women in transition, and adolescents. Over my years of practice, I have had the pleasure of serving a wide variety of clients, including adolescents and their families, cancer survivors, couples, and individuals facing issues of depression, anxiety, grief, and loss.
