Erika, a first-generation student, graduated from UCCS with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. She is a proud immigrant, who was born and raised in Honduras and loves to travel back home at least twice a year. She wishes to pursue a role that can open doors to first-generation students so that their path into higher education institutions is kinder than it was to her. Erika is currently balancing multiple roles within UCCS, she is an Admissions and Enrollment Specialist for the College of Education, an Administrative Assistant for the Department of Languages and Cultures, and is doing her practicums in the Pre-Collegiate Office as well as the Excel Language Center. Some of her hobbies include taking care of every plant that Sofi (her twin) has decided to buy/adopt, reading books, and cuddling with her cat named Sol.
