Linda Tegtmeier, MA
Biographical Information
Linda began her career in education as a Montessori Teacher, then worked as an Early Intervention Coordinator and Playgroup Director at The Resource Exchange as well as a Vocational Instructor for adults with disabilities through the UCCS Self-Determination Project, while completing her graduate work. After completing her master's degree, Linda taught as a special education teacher for students in Colorado Springs elementary and high schools, and as a transition coordinator, creating a local district's first 18-21 program.
Later, Linda joined the Colorado Department of Education as a Secondary Transition Specialist then Supervisor in the Office of Special Education, Exceptional Student Services Unit. Her work encompassed statewide IEP monitoring and special education training in addition to working with national partners to lead federal efforts in special education practices and policies.
After retiring from the Colorado Department of Education, Linda began working with families and special educators across the state, as an education consultant, as well as a lecturer and supervisor for the College of Education at UCCS.
Linda has an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Great Falls, Montana, as well as a bachelor's in psychology and master's in special education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Linda is a native of Colorado and currently resides in Black Forest, Colorado.
